The Plant Sciences Institute has established a new Proteomics Facility as part of the Center for Plant Genomics. This facility is located in the Roy J. Carver Co-Laboratory and is now up and running. The services available and how they can be accessed will be discussed. Proteomics technologies have evolved rapidly over the past few years. A wide variety of tools for proteomics studies are currently available and more are being developed. This array of tools allows studies to be designed to provide answers to a wide range of Proteomics questions. However the design of the experiment and selection of the right Proteomics tools for a particular question must be carefully considered. The Plant Sciences Institutes Proteomics Facility is capable of most of the currently available proteomics analysis methods. Available proteomics tools will be described along with the features of each that will aid in selecting the correct tools for a particular application. The equipment available in the Proteomics Facility for analysis of various proteomics platforms will be described.
